African Farmers Market exists to create ethical, transparent, and traceable pathways connecting African farmers and communities to global markets.

We work directly with farmers, artisans, artists, and communities to help expand access to opportunity while bringing authentic, story-driven products to customers around the world.

Rooted in African soil. Shared with the world.

About African Farmers Market

Our farm is located in the Rungwe District of Tanzania and serves as part of AFM's growing work on the ground in East Africa.

At the same time, African Farmers Market is not limited to products grown on one farm. We partner with farmers, farming communities, artisans, and other local producers to help create pathways to broader markets.

Our products are sourced through relationships with farmers, producers, artisans, and artists primarily across East Africa.

The origin varies by product. Whenever possible, we tell you exactly where a product comes from and share the people, place, and story behind it.

Transparency and traceability are central to what we do.

Many of the products we sell are grown, produced, created, or handcrafted in Africa, but our collection also includes products created in support of the AFM mission.

Check the individual product description for specific origin and production information.

Every purchase helps African Farmers Market continue building direct, sustainable pathways between producers in Africa and consumers around the world.

Our work focuses on strengthening livelihoods, expanding access to tools and infrastructure, supporting village economies, and developing long-term market opportunities rather than one-time assistance.

When you shop AFM, you're helping us continue that work.

Soil to Soul represents the connection between the land, the people who care for it, the products created from it, and the people who ultimately bring those products into their homes.

We believe knowing where something comes from matters. Behind every product is a place, a person, and a story worth knowing.

Because we sell food products and other specialty goods, we generally cannot accept returns simply due to a change of mind.

Depending on the circumstances, we may offer a replacement, store credit, or refund.

For food products, please do not return the product unless we specifically ask you to do so.

Please contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the damaged item and packaging.

We'll review the issue and work with you on an appropriate replacement or refund.

Let us know! Please contact us with your order number and a photo of what you received so we can correct the order.

Shipping

How long will my order take to arrive?

Not always, and that's part of what makes them special.

Handmade and artisan products may have small variations in color, pattern, texture, size, or finish. These natural differences are not considered defects and reflect the individual nature of handcrafted goods.

For original artwork, the product listing will identify the specific piece being offered whenever applicable.

We currently fulfill our U.S. orders through our Colorado operations.

Available shipping options and costs are shown during checkout based on the products in your order and your delivery location.

Processing and delivery times can vary depending on the product and shipping destination. You'll receive shipping or tracking information when available once your order is on its way. A general estimation is 7-10 business days.

Some specialty, handmade, or original art items may require additional processing or shipping time.

Farmers, Artists & Partnerships

Yes. Direct relationships are at the heart of African Farmers Market.

We believe lasting impact comes from collaboration, trust, and long-term partnerships rather than transactional relationships. We work alongside farmers and communities to understand local needs, strengthen capacity, and expand access to fair and transparent markets.

Do you also work with African artists and artisans?

Yes! AFM's work extends beyond agriculture.

We collaborate with African artists and artisans and use our platform to help share their work, culture, craftsmanship, and stories with a wider audience.

Our Art Nook features original work from East African artists, including artists from Kenya and Tanzania.
